SUSTAINABILITY

Trehearne Architects Sustainability Statement

Construction and the built environment is one of the major contributors to global carbon emissions (40%) and as professionals in this field we have a responsibility to respond to the environmental crisis and contribute to the process of decarbonising our world.

Sustainability is a key consideration in all our projects and we work closely with our clients and other consultants to review and assess each project individually, to ensure all aspects of sustainability are considered and that the aspirations and targets of our clients are met. This early stage engagement enables us to produce robust designs and deliver responsible and sustainable buildings.

We have a Green Working Group that meets regularly with a focus on keeping up to date with latest industry thinking and legislation along with researching emerging products, and then ensuring that this information is shared across the practice.

Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

We are committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050. As a practice we constantly review our own office operations, with a view to reducing our use of energy and resources. We have been operating as a carbon neutral organisation since 2022 and record and publish our emissions annually in accordance with the GHG Protocol. A link to our carbon report can be found here.
