16 NEW BURLINGTON PLACE

With the industry currently striving to achieve Net Zero Carbon, 16NBP is one of our iconic buildings which paved the way in addressing environmental issues from the outset.

We designed this ‘BREEAM Excellent’ building to be The Crown Estate’s headquarters in 2006, securing the first green lease in London. This innovative building incorporated rainwater harvesting, CHPs, photovoltaic panels, a concrete frame for high thermal mass and recessed windows to enhance shading as part of its energy efficient credentials, using 40% less energy than a typical building of its size. This approach to design and environmental sustainability adheres to the ethos that we now see as standard practice.

Shortlisted for the RIBA AWARDS and reflecting the Regent Street core values of ‘Heritage, Quality, Style & Success’ this building remains exemplary in our commitment to energy efficiency in buildings, setting the precedent for our designs today.

Behind a retained Regent Street facade, the redevelopment of Triumph House and 13-17 New Burlington Place combines office, retail and restaurant space within this tight urban site. Inspired by its context, the architectureis dramatic with layers of folded Portland stone walls defining the townscape of New Burlington Place whilst new hard landscaping and public art rejuvenates previously under-used urban space.

The building addresses environmental issues with rainwater harvesting, CHPs, photovoltaic panels, a concrete frame for high thermal mass and recessed windows to enhance shading.
