Southwark Bridge Road
Client: Columbia Threadneedle
Acting initially for the client during the competitive acquisition of No 32, proposals were prepared for the comprehensive refurbishment of both properties to realise the marriage value with their adjacent site at No 34. Having established a baseline value via refurbishment, upon purchase the brief was expanded to consider full redevelopment to maximise the potential of the site. The subsequent proposal is a bold solution which celebrates the corner plot, using a locally-referenced palette of materials in a contemporary fashion to regenerate the streetscape, whilst delivering highly efficient accommodation. The corner plot is further emphasised by an articulated pavilion roof orientated to the prow of the site and, further afield, to the City tower cluster beyond.
