Trehearne have gained planning consent for the refurbishment and extension of 71 Victoria Street. The design is based on stripping the building back to its structural frame and providing a new single firefighting core. The new core provides a more efficient floor-plate and enables the office entrance to be relocated to the prominent corner location on the site. The scheme comprises ground floor retail and eight upper floors of office accommodation inclusive of two additional floors. Set within the dynamic development area of Victoria, the primary facade is re-clad in a contemporary envelope, modeled, detailed and finished to respond to Artillery Mansions, creating a sensitive yet enhanced presence in this key part of the Broadway and Christchurch Conservation Area.
