Substantially redeveloped in the mid-1990s behind a Grade II listed facade, the M&E installations in this City office building were over fifteen years old. When a tired interior and compromised subterranean reception were also taken into account, it was agreed that a full Cat A refurbishment of the eight-storey building was essential in order to re-present the property back on the letting market. Our proposal took full advantage of the existing roof volume, creating vaulted roof-top accommodation with a dramatic angular panelled ceiling profile. We also rearranged the existing spit-level reception area, creating a visible presence from street level and a dynamic interaction with the first floor accommodation.
